Barako Liberica Coffee Bean Necklace
This coffee bean necklace is moulded from a Barako Liberica coffee bean that was sent straight from the Hinitan Plantation in the Philippians. Sadly the plantation is no more but their bean lives on.
It is available in Sterling Silver or Red Bronze and sits on a 45cm sterling trace silver chain ready to be given to that special coffee lover or even to be enjoyed as a nice treat for yourself.
About the bean: This coffee bean is a Barako Liberica coffee bean that was grown by the Hinitan Coffee Plantation in the Philippines. The bean is a beautiful and rare bean that is only grown in two countries in the world and is larger in size than the average coffee bean which makes it perfect for not just a great cup of coffee but for jewellery too.
The Hinitan Plantation was set on the steep banks of Taal Lake, Luzon, Philippines, with spectacular views across the lake towards Taal Volcano. The rich volcanic soil is ideal to produce their high-quality Barako Liberica coffee, Cocoa and Vanilla. They were home to an 11 hector estate of agricultural and preserved jungle environments, protecting the families of long-tailed macaque monkey who live on the farm, sadly the business is no more but their bean lives on.
Their mission was to preserve their environment from overdevelopment, to protect the heritage Barako Liberica species of coffee and to create a range of tree to table quality products, from their farm and carefully selected farms from across Asia. Sustainable farming was at the very heart of Hinitan, as they worked towards becoming 100% self-sufficient.
